Draft text

This week, legendary band ‘Burnout’ have made a surprise return after their 3 year outage after talented lead singer, Matt, decided to leave, to everyone’s surprise, and start a solo career.
On their return, Burnout released the new single ‘Ignition’ which sold 300,000 copies in its first few days, and immense guitarist Ryan has announced the release of a new album which will be out later this year.

This is my draft text for the start of my article on my double page spread. I plan to use formal language in my article but i will try to give my layout a more informal feel to try and appeal to more than one target audience group. I have chosen to do my article on a band making their return as this is an unusual but interesting topic. There are very few bands which split up and reunite, but they always make big stories in magazines if they do.

Draft fonts

Georgia
This font is quite bold which would make it very good for cover lines on my front cover and maybe for pull quotes on my double page spread. I wouldn’t use this for my article as it looks very spaced out and would not be able to fit much text on my page.

Franklin Gothic Book
This font is thin and close together so i would consider using this for my main article on my double page spread. I may also use it for my editors column on my contents page. I will not be using for cover lines on my front cover as it is not big a bold and therefore will not stand out and be eye catching.

This font is very bold and has good effect on it for me to use it for the masthead on my front cover. It also relates to the theme of my magazine. It would not be good to use for any other text as it would be hard to read in a small size due to the effect on it.
